July 2, 2012 - My fourth amazon.com review for Edith and Zachary (5 stars)-

This up and coming writer Amanda A. Brooks is phenomenal! I didn't put the book down till I finished it! This is her first of a 10 book series, and it starts the series off with engaging drama, valiant adventures, and deep romantic passion. You will surely be entertained! Pick one up! Then for sure you'll want the entire series! All the best Amanda* Hope to see this as a Movie of the Week!!!!

This review is from: Thunder Mountain Brides: The Outlaw Schoolteacher-Edith (Paperback)
Amanda A. Brooks Romance/Western "Thunder Mountain Bride" series feels like you're reading an old Western movie from generations past, in place of watching a film version. Although this reader admits to not being a fan of romance, the same cannot be said for Westerns, and was happy to discover that Book One "Edith" to be a very fun read. The pacing is lively with twists and turns around every corner and the central character, the outlaw schooteacher Edith, has the spunk of an entire gang of outlaws. So if you're a fan of romance and westerns, be it in either book or film format, you might want to give "Thunder Mountain Brides" a read.

Amanda Brooks has written the first novels of her 'Thunder Mountain Brides' series. There will be a different couple focused upon as each of the series is published. If you enjoy romance books that have smart heroines and brave and thoughtful men then, this is the series for you. The women remind the reader of Michaela Quinn and Laura Ingalles Wilder. Her writing is sharp and concise and is never boring. I see a lot of promise for this young author in the years ahead.

Amanda Brooks is a great story teller! She weaves a wonderful tale of Edith, outlaw turned teacher in the 1880's Colorado. There is plenty of good romance mixed with Wild West Outlaws, and Amanda Brooks brings it all to life in a fast moving, and tender love story of Edith and Zachary, or, I mean, Mr. Scalen. I highly recommend!
